Tutus and Tattoos

So me right? I was thinking more skull and crossbones but...I'm not picking the theme for girls camp. We had our camp kickoff tonight and we had to...ahem..."flutter" in with our magic wands. This will be a joy. I'm so not the princess type and guess what the theme is? It will be fun and I am excited to go but you all know I'm not super patient if your prissy.
C'est la vie!
So I got up to give the general idea of what will be up to. Yes I came straight from work so while all the other leaders were looking beautiful with their done hair, white skirts and make up I came looking just how I did it that picture. Jeans, dirty white shirt messy hair with the ever present pen stuck in the pony. Today I had this awesome tattoo on my arm while speaking to the young women and their mothers.
Just representin!
Granted Chelsea would have done a much better arrangement. These are some of my homegrown Tulips. That I'm convinced would have looked even better if the wind wouldn't have torn them up.
I need someone to tell me how to put the "gadget" up that tells me when the last time blogs were updated if I have a link to that blog.
I hope that made sense.

Just Coincidence

First off I need to vent a bit.
This has nothing to do with Candidate Tim James' comments but...They hired me a lot attendant who immigrated from Mexico who doesn't speak a lot of English. That's fine, he is here LEGALLY and is just looking for a better life. I have no problems. But when it impedes on my job duties looking for him all the time because he is not where he is supposed to be or doing what is supposed to be. Or me having to put my work aside to find someone to put their work aside so they can translate for me what I need this man to do it gets a little frustrating. Now I'm no racist but I about lost it the other day when I was talking to one of the guys who had been translating for me and I found out this lot attendant has lived here for 15 years!!! I get more than just a little bugged that this man still cannot communicate with me smoothly and gets all excited when I use the few Spanish words I know to try and get my point across and he tells me "very good" AGH! Sorry. He's not stupid he just doesn't want to learn English I guess. Once again I have nothing wrong with you wanting to come live here and if you don't speak English but are learning and trying I'm more that happy to help and I'm more than patient. I work with a few people who immigrated here LEGALLY and wanted to learn the language and we get along wonderfully I consider them good friends but why can't this man be more like them? Ahem... I'm done now.
My little green house is doing awesome. Thanks for asking!
Some "Brownie Cream-Cheese Bites" I made the other day. I think they taste better the following day, as long as you stored them in an airtight container.
Oh I almost forgot. I have to go to girls camp this year. Anyone have any good activity ideas you remember doing at camp and liked? I need help.

Toot Toot

This is my greenhouse. I've got Roma tomatoes, cucumbers, mesclun, herbs and some other things. Got a lot of seeds today too can't wait to get my garden going and hopefully I have a green thumb.
Some of my Tulips are blooming.
I made a Chocolate-raspberry tart with a gingersnap crust for desert. I thought it was pretty tasty. My husband Senor picky wasn't a fan. I think I'll tweak it a bit and change some things up next time.
The chocolate ganache filling was my favorite.
Trying to stay busy in this beautiful Spring weather we are having before it skips to summer too soon, or back to winter, you know the rain and snow are supposed to be back Thurs.
Stupid Utah.

He has a problem

Does anyone really need this much gum?
(I found three more packs after this picture was taken. Nor does it include the packs in the jeep)

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
He won't take that first step unfortunately.

I don't have much to say so I will tell you some stories.

If you know me you know I HATE shopping, almost despise it. Anyhow I ripped my only pair of jeans that don't have holes in them. This wouldn't normally bother me but I'm not allowed to be "comfortable" at work, so intact jeans is what I was out for. I usually buy my jeans at D.I. (Why spend lots of money when my jeans don't last long no matter what I do?) I didn't feel like taking the time to actually go through a rack to find a pair that fit so I hit up the mall. I realized two things while I was there. Bath and Body works (I'm aware they don't sell jeans but they do sell some awesome face wash) the marketing team at Bath and Body works are geniuses. You get a coupon that seems amazing every time you go in which in turn you want to use because of its awesomeness and when you go back to use said coupon you get yet another equally awesome coupon and the cycle continues. Clever, very clever.

The Gap has way too many headless mannequins. I always am kind of looking around and not strait ahead then something catches my eye and I do one of those jerking stop things fearing I might be about to plow over someone and then find out its a damn decapitated plastic dummy who has better fashion sense than I do.
Stupid Gap.

Some funny things our sunbeams say;

After the closing prayer in sacrament when it's still real quiet Sam shoots his clenched fist in the air and shouts, "It's Mahana Time"

When showing a picture of Christ on the cross I ask, "Who knows what this is?"
Porter responds with, "That's when Christ was screwdafied" (I'd say so)

While throwing his chest out and shoulders back Cannon exclaims, "What?" all thug like because he had just lifted Chris' watch

After being somewhat shocked Porter and Maili proclaim, "What the...?"

While dancing with Maili Porter is singing. I ask him what he's saying and he sings, "I know you I walked with you once upon a dream....."

Domestic Me

Let me start by apologizing if any of you heard a song of ours called "The Way I Am" by Ingrid M something. If you heard it I'm sorry if not don't worry about it. Not sure how it got on our playlist.

I digress.

I've wanted to make jam for a few years now and last Monday I finally did.
My favorite. Strawberry, I'm salivating just looking at the pictures.
Didn't make quite as much as I had hoped for. Nine and a half jars doesn't last very long.
I've been slaving away in the garden. You really can't see how many tulips are starting to pop up out of the ground but I'm excited to see them bloom. I'm a little bummed though because after "patching" the lawn and putting new garden soil down (not pictured) I can't really do anything else now until after the frost. Unless....I start building the garden boxes. Hurray for me.
I've really been getting into the holidays lately. It all started with me buying themed holiday earrings for my sunbeams and now I just get excited for a holiday. I don't really own any St. Pattys day decor so I improvised and used my Halloween cauldron as a pot of gold. They used to be leprechauns on the pot. (You can tell by the hats)
Did I mention the shamrock shaped chocolate dipped espresso cookies I skillfully crafted?

8 things

I was tagged by my hilarious cousin Lauren.
It only took me slightly over a week to do. (Someone applaud that please)

Eight things I'm passionate about:
(Not sure I'm passionate about 8 things)
Gardening
Well I'm getting there. I don't have a garden but I'm slowly trying to take over me mums.
Reading
I even read crappy books. If I start I feel it necessary to finish them. I have only ever chucked two across the room and not finished.
Currently I'm reading "Pope Joan" want to stop but it's just interesting enough to keep me reading.
Eating
I'm never hungry (well mostly never) but I will always eat.
I love to try new things, especially if it will gross Chris out.
My Family
It probably doesn't seem like it to them but I'd do almost anything for them. If they are ever threatened....I'll cut ya
Keeping organized
I get made fun of sometimes but it's how I roll and I can usually find whatever I'm looking for
Being a good friend
I always try my best. I know I'm a good listener (not so much good at advice) and I AM the best secret keeper. BEST
Brushing my teeth
Dental hygiene folks

2 years STRONG!

This is our Metropolitan "To Good For You" Look
For all those of you who bet me my marriage wouldn't last a year...Pay Up!!
We may not have our own place. We may not have nice things. We may have medical and school debt. We may stress about the small things sometimes. We may not know where we will be in a year or two. What we do know is We Are In Love and nothing can stop us. Watch out world....IT'S MAHANA TIME!
