Chris and I want to tell you something and see if we can get your help. Just so everyone is on the same page and so it doesn't turn out to be the telephone game where it starts out as one thing and ends up being another.
We have been separated since the beginning of Dec. We didn't tell anyone not because we want to keep it a secret but we didn't want anyone feeling sorry for us or worrying about us over the holidays.
Now don't go thinking that this is horrible. Sure it's not something we wanted or hopped for but it happens. It is a trial and we are making it through. I ran across a quote the other day by Elder Maxwell that said, "If we criticize God or are unduly miffed (love that line) over sufferings and tribulation, we are really criticizing the Planner for implementing the very plan we once approved.." Misery is optional right? Chris and I have chosen not to be miserable.
Grandma Van once told me the hotter the fire the stronger the metal so...I figure by the end of this Chris and I can get through anything. No matter the outcome.
Here is where we need your help. This Sunday is fast Sunday and if you wouldn't mind fasting for Chris to overcome his trials and struggles, and as he says, "get his mind strait" that would be awesome. Iknow without a doubt with your help and prayers things will change for the better. Fasting is an amazing gift that our Father in Heaven has blessed us with and it has worked many miracles. If you don't believe it just come to my ward. You can't argue with Isaiah (even if we don't always understand him) "Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer;..satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and they darkness be as the noonday: and the Lord shall guide thee continually.." (Isaiah 58:8-11)
If you can't or don't fast please keep him in your prayers. If you are not the praying type send good thoughts his way. If you are not the thinking type you have bigger problems and I don't want to be your friend anyhow :)

I know not everyone looks at their e-mail and I KNOW I don't have everyone's email (especially on the Mahana side) so if you would like to forward this facebook it (it's true I don't have one) or twit (as mom says) the info to our loved ones it would be greatly appreciated.
I know the religious stuff may make some of you uncomfortable but it is what I believe and have faith in. For those of you who may worry about me, DON'T. I try to swear at least once a week to keep from being translated.
