I've ruined his life!

Check on the parents blog soon for pictures of D.J and Chelseas wedding but first let me splain, no let me summarize how I ruined my sweethearts life.

Friday we arrived at the Greenhouse for the wedding, right before the ceremony started I realized that the zipper on my dress separated (No more candy for me) Chris looked at it tried to get it to go down and back up with no luck, it was stuck. As soon as the actual ceremony was over we ran home and I changed. On the way back Chris asked if I would drive and I told him, "No, you can" so we left. On the road Tiff calls me and asks if we've left because they are going to start taking pictures so I tell Chris to speed and he tells me "No, I don't speed". We're getting closer and I push on his knee so he'll go a little faster then let go, not thirty seconds later we pass a cop car who pulls out and flips his lights on (We weren't going that fast Uncle Jeff, don't be angry) anyway Officer Hoopie comes up and asks for Chris' license. "I don't have it Sir." I originally drove to the wedding and made him drive back. We are about 500 feet from the Greenhouse where the wedding was, Chris has just one final to take in three days and I'm about in tears. I try to convince Chris to tell him why but he just, "No Sir, Yes Sir, Thank you for my ticket Sir" and we were off, no we didn't make it for pictures. Hopefully everything will be okay he called his instructor the next day who was golfing and he is taking his final as I type. I'm positive he will still graduate but I have never felt so guilty in my life.

In my defense to make myself feel better, mom saw my dress was torn an hour before the wedding started and didn't say anything, we also went back to pick up the card my parents left and finally my husband is really strong and I couldn't have pushed his knee down if he didn't want me to.

Alas, I still feel guilty and know it is all my fault. Hopefully there will be pictures soon of the new marriage where the wife hasn't ruined the husbands life yet.

Doings

The kittens absolutely love Chris and love crawling all over him.

How can you resist this face?
Chris is doing great in school and it's hard to believe he is almost done. Graduation is July 9th. He gets along great with all his fellow cadets and instructors. He likes to tease some of the instructors and will end up doing push ups for it. He is a great class leader and loves going to school. He comes home beat up sometimes but I'm sure he wouldn't trade it for anything.
I've been a volunteering fool. Not sure why really, we all know I'm not a nice person. Most of it has been with kids which is even more bizarre because I hate kids, they're stupid. Anyway I've done three family days with the Military where the parents are in counseling because their spouse just got back from war so we take the kids and build things. I've also gone fishing with mentally and physically disabled kids. That was fun because some kids would get frustrated quick that they weren't catching anything so we would distract them and someone would grab a fish from the farm, hook it on the end of the line, and toss it out into the lake. It was awesome to see how excited the kids would get. The most rewarding thing for me thus far was last Fri I did "Relay for Life" my shift was 12-3 am. you all know how I'm so good at staying awake past ten o'clock. I basically sped walked if I even tried to jog my pants would fall down because I threw Chris' sweat pants on (twas a chilly night) Although I had no walking buddy and my brain couldn't function for more than five mins at a time it was a good thing. I wasn't able to raise any money because our Internet was down. But I did it for my family members and three friends at work. Not much else to say.

I have a problem

Like I said...I have a problem with being able to make a post without a picture.

It's an oldie but a goodie

Let me see...Nothing new here.  I'm leaving to hang out with my cool sister hopefully she'll have little A@#%*! while I'm there.  Of course she will, if not I'm bringing the little one out myself, I just need a towel and a spoon.
Hopefully Chris can cope with me gone for a week.  He'll be sad and lonely but will have no one telling him when his bedtime is.  Still doing most fantastic in school.
Sorry this was such a long post.  I'll try to keep it short next time.

Lucky I'm In Love With My Best Friend

Ok so I couldn't find any pictures. I'm more than a bit disappointed but since we can't figure out how to set our computer up to the Internet, no visual aids.
Let's start with....ME. Well I'm still at Depot and am thankful everyday I have a job, not like I'd go anywhere, please. (humble aren't I) Work is starting to pick up now that is warming up. Finally. I'm liking work more everyday. Our CEO is doing some great things for the employees, which makes it easier to go to work when you don't feel like your working for the MAN. I love the people I work with and still don't want to be promoted. I have a few violin lessons left but I think I may just take them once a month from my teacher who will start teaching from his house. I have fun, I may not be good but to the untrained ear who will notice right :) Hm..well that about sums it up for me.
Chris is still doing great in school. He comes home with great stories every night. He's still a great class leader and always has people in his unit coming to him for questions and help. The instructors seem to love him as well. He'll sit and talk with them for quite awhile even after class is over. He's going to go golfing with one of them sometime, if he can save his allowance :) A few weeks ago SGT King was teaching them some Defensive Tactics and punched Chris from about four inches away. Chris wasn't expecting it to hurt like it did because it didn't seem like he could get that much momentum going and he's a small guy. I'm guessing he cracked a rib or something because Chris couldn't cough, sneeze, breath deeply or sleep without wincing. It had gotten to the point this week where it finally stopped hurting. Until last night when King was teaching Jiu-Jitsu and now my sweetie can't get hugs without groaning in pain or moving in bed without wincing again. Let me tell you my Chris is no wimp either. So besides getting beat up in school (Maybe I should take Jett to meet SGT King) He is doing awesome. His older than dirt Dr. still hasn't made an appointment for his MRI. We want to get a new Dr. but with all Chris' medical history we might as well wait until his Dr. dies. I'm still trying to convince Chris it would be easier to explain things to a new Dr. than waiting for this guy. (Can you tell I'm bitter?) Oh yeah Chris interviews with West Jordan Police Dept next week and goes on a ride along next Sat with Springville. He's pretty giddy. Or just excited in a manly way.

Don't Judge Us

(Not me.  I was taking the picture)

So a few weeks ago I was privileged to go welcome home 300 Utah National Guard home from serving in Iraq for over a year.  I went with some volunteers from work.  We were able to feed the soldiers and their families, and hand them yellow roses as soon as they stepped off the plane and say "Thank You"  What a great experience!  It was reaffirmed that I do not have a heart.  I believe I was the only one who didn't cry, I was happy okay. I smiled a lot if that counts.  It was so fun to see all the soldiers be reunited with their families.  The National Guard was so happy we volunteered and a girl I work with was able to pull enough food together for 1,000 people in 36 hours they invited us back for the Special Forces when they return.

Chris started school again and is the class leader for the last block.  I'm so proud of my husband.  He IS so smart.  He astounds me everyday with his good looks, witty conversation and sparkling personality. (or something like that)

We are also moving back to Lehi.  Crashing the parents for awhile longer.  It's hard to catch up on medical bills when he keeps having to go back.  He now has to go in for an MRI.  If his doctor wasn't 103 and would remember to call and schedule the appointment we would have it done by now and know what we need to do to fix him.  My mom said he's not supposed to be ill right now, it's not the holidays.  No worries he's not deathly ill.  They just took an X-ray of his back awhile ago and there were some black spots they couldn't make out and they just need a clearer picture.

Let's see.  My violin lessons are progressing.  My teacher always makes me feel better saying I'm progressing nicely.  But I get frustrated because I know I played better when I was five.  Oh well, I better go and practice or I may get in trouble.
