POTS!

(I apologize once again for the picture quality, they were all taken with my phone)

Mint Pots
Chocolate, Sweet, and Orange mint all in their own little pot.

My rustic and weathered strawberry pot.

My in your face color pot.

So these aren't pretty pots but until my garden is ready and the temps remain consistently warm I had to temporarily plant my tomatoes. A couple of them still got sun burnt or frozen, I can't tell which yet. I think too cold though.
My indoor polka dot tropical. Should have gotten more of the foliage in the photo cause she is just so cute.

Makes sense?

Sorry I don't know how to put the pictures into a cute collage thing. So you still have to look at them one at a time. Ok, moving on.

A cute little old lady at work said I was so nice and helpful that she was going to share a secret family recipe called "Peach of a Pie" As you guessed it's a peach pie with a meringue topping. It was yummy but a little runny. (We may...MAY see if I can improve on it. Then again, I may never try it again)

My beautiful wedding ring has been getting the crap beat out of it at work for the last five years and it was making me sad. So I decided not to wear it to work anymore after the diamond became very loose in it. I had talked about getting a ring made out of tungsten carbide, which is what Chris' is made out of, and it is super strong and doesn't scratch. Well while I talked about it my sweet husband found one on ebay for $14 bones. I love it. It is so sturdy. It's a wee bit loose but hey now creepy gross men at work will know I'm taken (not like that ever stops the creepy gross ones)

Look look. Don't my tulips look awesome. You can also kind of see my bleeding heart coming back bigger and better.

I made a couple of small simple (simple being the key word) for our Easter table. Let me tell you, the hyacinths smell incredible!

Since Chris and I were alone this Easter we didn't make the traditional lamb (my first year without it) Chris and I love Chow Ciao so we made ourselves a Fabio meal. Prime rib steak and loaded mashed potatoes. As we sat down I realized we had no vegetables...oh well, maybe next time.

I was in charge of the steak which smelled awesome but tasted...eh. Chris said it was great I thought it could have been bloodier :) I like my cow with the bell still on. Chris was in charge of the potatoes and they were so so good, (Not healthy by any means. But I figure we skipped all the Easter candy so we just made up for it with dinner.)

I was trying to be a creeper but turned out looking constipated.

I taught Pops Sunday school class while he was in Tucson and I made my very first cake balls! Banana flavored. Chris and I (Pops had one when he got home and I think he would agree) They were pretty rich but the 10 year olds seemed to have loved them. I was a bit nervous about teaching his class but those kids are so smart and they love to participate, which is a huge change from the Young Womens. Well, the participating part. It's like pulling teeth sometime to get the girls to answer questions.

This was our dessert. Make sure when it says to add instant pudding mix you verify the box size. The top layer was way too sticky and rich I scrapped half of mine off. But otherwise it was great and the nice touch with the strawberry was all me.
Oh don't worry all these pictures of highly fattening food I don't make all the time. We are not diabetic and haven't gained any weight. We still love our fruits and veggies.

Mmm Pie

Pie day came and went once again.
Don't you worry though, we had us some banana cream pie.
Chris and I play lots of games. For YEARS I have lost to Chris at chess, and then one day....I stopped loosing. I have won the last 5 or 6 and we've stalemated about 2. For now I am enjoying the high of victory but I'm sure it will end soon.
The weather has been so nice my crocus' and hyacinths started blooming early and then we got a few inches of snow and some bitter cold wind. (Figures, we're in Utah) So although my crocus' look a little sad my tulips are coming up nicely.
I have lots of buds on my lilac tree this year and.....
I don't know how to keep Jett and Pops from spitting their gum in my garden or lawn. Even last night I went to get the mail I found two more pieces.
They're disgusting!

What I did with my week off

I baked!!
I made cinnamon rolls from scratch. The frosting was the best part. I thought they came out a little dry so I will play with the recipe a bit and try again.
I also made muffins (not from scratch) they were okay....
I did our TAXES. Yay me. It was confusing at times and I needed my co-pilot to help me out with a couple of things but it was a hell of a lot cheaper than taking them to someone else to do them for me.
I also made rice crispy treats. I know that one is not a big deal but I honestly don't remember the last time I made those. My Mia-Maids said they were awesome so I will take their word for it. And...AND I made wheat bread from scratch. I wasn't too impressed with it but...
Chris really enjoyed it. I also found out afterwards that I guess making wheat bread is harder. As you can tell from the previous picture it didn't rise to well but it's edible so we'll chalk it up to a win.

What!!

That's what we were saying.

Last Thurs was a four year anniversary. We weren't saying "WHAAATT??" because it's lasted so long but because the time has flown by.

Can you tell which one of us is happy in the relationship?

Just kidding he is happy too!

Speaking of him. We went and had his scopes done and a few thousand dollars later they said everything looks great. This is good news for us, the Dr. even said if he didn't know better he would have never guessed Chris has Chrons. The bad news we still don't know why he still throws up on a constant basis. But he says, "No more Dr. appointments." I agreed and said just his regular dentist appointments. Although I reserve the right to make and keep Dr.s appointments for him if I feel the need should arise.

My stinkin tulips are coming up. This picture was taken a week ago. There are so many more popping their little heads up.

My crocus' are coming up to. I'm glad because I LOVE my flowers but worried because it has been such a warm winter, they are coming up too early. Now I have blooms already showing and it is currently snowing.

Go figure!

No excuses

Well I have one excuse why. Someone (of Latin descent) spilled water on my keyboard and a lot of the keys don't work so I've been putting it off longer than I normally would, which we all know is a long time.

We had a good Christmas although I forgot to take ANY pictures until well after the day was done. I got Chris some shoes. See he is only wearing one and yet another watch. He broke the rules (and the bank) and bought me an iPad you see Jett playing on.

Me and my beautiful little sister watching a Christmas movie of some sort.

New Years Eve

Timer was up before any of us were ready. Not like Pops would have looked any different. He has a knack for looking drunk or stoned in a majority of his pictures. There is a better shot on the family blog.

Let's see....Chris had a CT scan and has a major Vitamin D deficiency so he's on meds. That can lead to other scary things but we are going to wait until after his scopes next month to really start worrying. He gets the scopes from both directions, at least they will be doing them simultaneously so that will be nice. He has still been throwing up off and on but has been vomit free this last week or so. He's still a happy guy that shocks and embarrasses me in public but he continues to make me laugh.

I have been working in Hardware since Oct and have really enjoyed it now I get to start running Garden on Monday and am excited. If you know me I LOVE to work in my garden so I think I will have fun out there. Chris has helped me loose about 6 lbs on the stress diet but I'm not really complaining.

Nothing else to report on. See you haven't missed much.

A lot going on..

I haven't been super busy but I have had a lot on my mind.
First keep this sweet man in your prayers. I took him to the E.R. a couple of weeks ago because he had been throwing up blood for about 4 hours every half hour. And not just a little bit. I cannot explain to you how much came out especially without having eaten anything but gatorade for a day or two.
(See no more luscious locks)
Once we took him in he was throwing up about every 15 min. They rushed him in because of the Christmas visit we had a few years ago. They did some x rays this and that the Dr. came back and said his white blood cell count was through the roof. My first panicky thought was "Oh my gosh it's cancer" Dr. said it could be cause by his Chrons, stress, infection.... He didn't do any follow up tests or anything. And it could have been cancer.....whateve. Thanks for the shot in the butt and the bill.
I'm just glad that after a month of not feeling well I have my happy husband back.

(Flashing our gang sign. Please ignore the zit)
My district manager made me promise to take some advanced leadership class but was really tricking me into taking a class so I can move up and be an actual assistant manager with the title instead of just being one when I clock in (like all this week. no I'm not bitter). Sly dog. I always told them I was happy where I am. So after reading a two inch thick stack of paperwork and reports I finished the class on a Fri and had an interview the next Tues. Not to toot my own horn but there are a lot of people (one whom I work with and expressed his frustration to me) who finished the class 2 years ago and have been waiting for an interview. I didn't get the job (which is fine with me because I was tricked into taking the class to begin with. Remember? I digress) Anyway they said I nailed my interview but I needed more Merchandising experience since I am an Ops genius :) Oh and just over 2 months ago I left my front end I went to team take over Hardware. Come February I will be over garden. I am what they call the seasonal Department Head. Whatever department is the busiest, that is where you will find me.
Side note I feel so loved because ever since I have left everyone on the front tells me I need to come back and it has fallen apart. (once I left 2 of my head cashiers jumped ship) Ahhh to feel so needed.

These are some older pics. But some good ones.

(for some reason the sound and the pic don't match up great but you get the idea)
And this video makes us laugh. Thought you might enjoy it too.
My poor sweetheart and his deviated septum.
